Chefs from George Brown College visit back40growers!
March 1, 2019
We were excited to show a few of Canada’s top Chefs, who also educate at George Brown College our facility, and to learn more about how we grow indoors. Our Head Grower, Aquaculture Technician, Sr. Business Development Manager, and President led the informative 1.5 hour long tour. The tour ended with a taste of testing of herbs, kale, and romaine we harvested that morning.
The positive feedback from the Chefs was extremely rewarding, as these industry leaders are no strangers to great quality produce. Compliments of the flavour profile, scent, and appearance left the team at back40growers in awe. It was truly rewarding after a year of hard work and experimentation to complete our farm and begin producing premium quality produce.
Thank you again to the team at George Brown College for visiting our farm!
Faculty of George Brown College vists back40growers!
February 26, 2019
We had the privilege of sharing our state-of-the-art facility with the incredible faculty and culinary team from George Brown College. Approximately 50 individuals were taken through our entire system; from the beginning stages of seeding, to the final stages of harvesting and packaging. The exciting tour ended with a taste testing of an assortment of freshly harvested herbs and we were more than happy to send home each visitor with a complimentary package of our herbs from our ‘Sprigs’ brand.
We are truly ecstatic about our vision coming to life and sharing the future of farming with industry leaders. Thank you to George Brown College for being such fantastic visitors and taking the time to see our vision for the future come to life!
